About Oak Academy

Oak Academy Tutors is a premium online tutoring service dedicated to helping children excel academically and grow in confidence through personalised learning. We provide one-on-one virtual lessons for learners from Pre-K to Grade 12, ensuring every child gets the support they deserve.
Our story
It started with children who had been quietly written off.
Oak Academy grew out of fifteen years of classroom and literacy work, and out of a pattern our founder kept meeting: bright, curious children who had decided, somewhere along the way, that they were the slow one. Not because anyone told them so — but because nobody had found the specific gap that was making everything harder than it needed to be.
School classrooms are not designed to find that gap. With thirty children and a syllabus to finish, even excellent teachers cannot stop and diagnose one child’s decoding breakdown. So the gap travels with the child, year after year, quietly compounding.
We built Oak Academy to do the thing a classroom cannot: start with the individual child. Assess first. Find the actual gap — which is very often not the one the parent came in worried about. Write a plan. Match a professional tutor who fits not just the subject but the personality. Then stay, consistently, until the child is not only performing better but believes something different about themselves.
Today that work reaches families across Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the United States, and extends into teacher training, school consultancy, and the Funstories Reading & Writing Club. The scale has changed. The starting point has not.

Meet the founder
Foluso Omole
Founder & Lead Educational Consultant
Foluso Omole is an Educational Consultant, Reading Strategist, Instructional Designer and the Founder of Oak Academy — an educational consulting and tutoring organisation committed to helping children achieve academic excellence through personalised, learner-centred support. She is also the Founder of Funstories Reading Club, an online literacy community dedicated to raising confident readers, writers and lifelong learners.
With over 15 years of experience in education, Foluso has worked with children, parents, teachers and schools to improve literacy, strengthen learning outcomes and build children's confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Her passion lies in helping every child discover the joy of learning. Through personalised tutoring, evidence-based literacy strategies and engaging teaching approaches, she equips learners with the reading, writing, communication, critical thinking and life skills they need to thrive academically and beyond.
Beyond working with learners, Foluso partners with parents and schools to create meaningful learning experiences that inspire confidence, curiosity and lifelong success. She also trains and mentors educators through workshops and professional development programmes, equipping them with practical strategies that transform teaching and improve learner outcomes.
